The concept is simple and the execution is ambitious: 8-bit chiptune sounds, with their characteristic reverb-laden bleeps and bloops, are woven together with a full emotional orchestra in genuine harmonic and melodic collaboration rather than mere juxtaposition. Strings carry the emotional weight, brass provides ceremonial grandeur, a choir adds the kind of choral power that pushes everything up to eleven, and throughout it all the chiptune elements remain present and essential rather than decorative. It is big, powerful, confident, and genuinely moving.
