For those moments when your content needs to sound unmistakably East Asian without reaching for the gong. Traditional instrumentation, cinematic scale, and, I hope, a decent measure of respect.
You’ll find pieces built around the instruments that carry this music properly: the erhu with its particular vocal ache, the guzheng, bamboo flute, and the ceremonial percussion of imperial court music. Some arrangements stay traditional; others take that instrumentation somewhere thoroughly cinematic.
This is a style creators routinely struggle to license well. The cheap option is a synthesised pentatonic sketch that anyone familiar with the tradition will recognise instantly as a shortcut. I’d rather write the real thing, and these tracks have earned their place as some of the most-used in my catalogue precisely because they don’t sound like a shortcut.
Perfect for creators crafting:
A Note on the Sound:
I can’t promise authenticity as an outsider, and I won’t pretend otherwise. These are written with genuine affection for the tradition and a fair amount of study, but they’re my interpretation of sounds I love rather than the tradition itself.
Chinese instrumentation carries a particular emotional weight – restrained, ancient, and capable of enormous scale without ever raising its voice. These pieces belong to the broader collection of traditions in my world music, whilst the more cinematic arrangements sit comfortably beside my epic tracks. For the meditative end of things, the ambient collection offers a quieter kind of stillness.

I’ve assembled this collection for creators who understand that in the realm of TikTok, every millisecond must sparkle rather like a particularly enthusiastic disco ball. These tracks have been precision-engineered for that curious space where 15 seconds needs to feel simultaneously like a lifetime and a rather delightful accident.

For those moments when your content requires the sort of sonic authenticity that can only be achieved through generous applications of analogue warmth and the occasional burst of unapologetically enthusiastic brass. Rather like discovering a perfectly preserved recording studio from 1974, complete with wood panelling and questionable interior design choices.

This collection lives in the attic of Silverman Sound Studios. It exists for the mavericks for whom traditional musical approaches feel somehow insufficient. It’s time to see that reality can be thoroughly adjustable.
