Use as part of a project, event, creative endeavour etc.: Good news! You can use any of my musical tracks in your project. It doesn’t matter what they are, or if they’re commercial, you can use it!
Re-sell or sub-license as a standalone music track. Or pretend that someone other than Shane Ivers wrote it: Uh oh! No, I don’t allow this. People should only be able to download this track from my website, and I still own the copyright no matter what shenanigans you are planning.

I’m happy to give credit for the music in my project: The Creative Commons License is the one for you! Just download the mp3 from the song’s page (the button is just below the audio player), and make sure you give proper credit for the song. You don’t have to pay a penny!
The image below shows a handy button highlighted that you'll find on each song's page. Click it to copy the credits easy peasy! Then just paste them where they need to go.
The image below shows which button you'll need to press to download the mp3:
I can’t or don’t want to give credit: The Non-Attribution License is the one for you! This costs $20 and you’ll find a link to purchase this license on the song’s web page, just below the audio player.

My project is commercial: You can still use my music, as long as you have either license. No need to ask permission. Please, just go out and make mad bank! You don’t need to pay me one penny of any money you make.
Of course, any support you can provide would be massively appreciated.

I want to use it for educational purposes: That’s great! Please go ahead! You have my written consent. Here it is! Look!
I’m using it for something possibly offensive, disturbing, ‘out-there’ etc: I’m not in the business of censorship, or judgement. Please go ahead and use the music.
I want to use it in a YouTube video: Great stuff! You can copy and paste the credits into your video’s description, that’s the quickest and easiest way. Or you can add a text or verbal credit in the video itself, whichever you prefer.
I want to use it in a podcast: Glad to hear it! Of course you can use my music in a podcast. You can copy and paste the credits into your podcast’s description, that’s the quickest and easiest way. Or you can add a verbal credit in the podcast itself, whichever you prefer.
For those using a Non-Attribution License, you only need to pay for one license to cover you for an entire series.
I want to use it in an advertisement: Fantastic! Of course you can use it. You can add a credit in the small print, or in the text description if it’s on a web-based ad platform that supports that.
I want to use it in a video game: Brilliant! you can add credits at the end in a credits roll, or wherever you want to put the credits - such as on a popup on the menu, for instance.
I want to use it in a film: Nice one! The best thing about films is they have a very well-established way of showing credits to the audience. If you’re a filmmaker, you know where these go!
I want to remix, sing over, splice, dice, and make it cooler: Yes! You can use any of my tracks as a base for your own musical creations. You just need to identify what’s mine and what’s yours. e.g.
Backing track by Shane Ivers, Lyrics and vocal melody by Muso O’Cool (or whatever you go by).
or
“Track” by Shane Ivers, Remixed by DJ Awesome-o
or
Beat by Shane Ivers rap by MC Hummer
etc. etc.
I want to use it in a physical space, such as a store, restaurant or event: Cool! The thing to bear in mind is: if someone wanted to find out what the song was, do they have a way of doing so easily? Could they ask staff? Is there a bulletin board, or information kiosk where you could put a little notice up? Just printing out a not and putting it a clear and logical place will cover you.
I want to use it somewhere else: Well well well… As long as you can give credit, you are covered for ANY PURPOSE YOU CAN IMAGINE knock yourself out. I mean it. You don’t need to ask. I don’t mind what your project is or isnt, whether it’s commercial, charitable, funny, obscure, offensive, or on any platform. Just use it, and (in the nicest possible way) please stop sending me emails mmmkay?
